Nope. The only connection binge-eating has with your problems is that you “attached” a feeling to an action and then created a habit through repetition. You can fix your “problems,” but that will not fix the binge-eating habit.
There is something wrong with you.
Nope. You are quite normal, with a normally functioning brain. Once you understand how your brain works, you will see a clear path to recovery.
You lack self-control. You are weak. You are at the mercy of this disease.
Nope. That’s like saying, “you are weak because you feel compelled to brush your teeth before going to bed. ” Or “You are at the mercy of brushing your teeth before going to bed.” You were not born brushing your teeth. You learned the habit. You were not born a binge-eater. You learned the habit. And if you learn a habit, that means you can also unlearn it.
