Hey now, where are the “before” pictures??
I don’t believe in “before” pictures, even though every client has one. Best metabolic health is not about body size. You can still carry extra weight and have excellent metabolic health, although it is also true that extra weight makes it more difficult to overcome insulin resistance.
You can also be thin and be metabolically unhealthy! You cannot tell from looking at someone how metabolically healthy they are.
I, for one, will never look at a picture of a beautiful human who carries extra fuel in his or her “lunchbox” as something to judge. No! That is not my style. Each of us decides how much extra fuel we want to store, and that decision is personal and individual and nobody’s business but our own! I love to highlight pictures given to me by happy clients who are finally feeling optimally healthy. They literally glow with good health, and I love them all!

I can’t imagine continuing on the path I was walking before. As soon as I learned of my condition, I became determined to reverse direction, NATURALLY. That old path and those neuropathways seem so far behind me now.
As a long distance backpacker, I am considered an endurance athlete. My lifestyle requires that I eat differently at home than I do on trail, so I have to have 2 separate plans, and Sarah has flawlessly coached me through this. Changing my mindset through the education of physiology has allowed me to visualize what happens in my body and use that along with other tools to think differently and make the best choices for my body whether I am home or in the backcountry for months at a time.
I’m healthier, I sleep better, I feel terrific and I have far more energy and confidence in my body’s ability! I also love the recipes Sarah and her sister offer so much that I have modified a few of them to dehydrate for my backpacking meals.

I was not overweight, but I had a HgA1C of 6.1% before starting the Game Changer Program. My HgA1C is now 5.4%, and I’ve never felt better. I started with Diabetes Game Changer in September. I was told to make changes or go on meds for pre diabetes. Like typical me, I called Sarah to cry on her shoulder and she asked if I was really ready. As a partner she coached me. It’s not no carb, I eat real food that I like. What I did change is no sugar or flour for a period of time, and after that limiting those two food groups to less frequently than before and always with intention, not from a primitive urge. I eat two meals a day and no snacks. It’s much easier than I thought, and I feel it is sustainable for life. I stopped Diet Cokes. I drink water, tea, or bubble waters. What? A hand and a ring? Yes! So many of us cannot get our rings off to clean them or get them fixed! I am a retired 75 year old physician who was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes 3 yrs ago and started on Metformin by my doctor. I have been prediabetic for many years and didn’t pay much attention to it, thinking my low-fat vegan diet with complex carbs and exercise would hold me in good stead. It was upsetting that my Metformin had to be increased last year as my A1c climbed despite my best efforts. With great curiosity, I attended Sarah’s OLLI class on insulin resistance, and it was a tremendous eye-opener and at the same time a humbling experience. I realized that I had been taught incorrect information about fat and glucose research (and diabetes) and really did not understand insulin resistance as well as I thought.
I enrolled as one of her clients 6 months ago and have been wonderfully amazed at the improvement in my metabolic health. With the low-carbohydrate, high fat, moderate protein diet and intermittent fasting that I have been following through her website and counseling sessions, my diabetes is now in remission with my A1c at prediabetic levels off medication. Other parameters such as my waist-to-hip ratio have also come into a healthier optimal range. I have always been taught that diabetes is a chronic progressive disease that only worsens with time, and the only way to manage it is through medication. It is so empowering to be able to move towards completely reversing this malady over the next year as I continue this amazing program. I have more energy, I sleep better, I am no longer hungry with emotional ups and downs of sugar spikes, and I’m wearing a continuous glucose monitor to observe what triggers glucose/insulin spikes throughout the day.
